BioI keep forgetting to update this thing. It's always a work in progress, though. Anyways, most of my journal is Friends locked, so just post somewhere on one of the public entries to let me know you friended me and I'll add you back. I've been toying with returning to all public posts again, but for now, I like the privacy from certain snooping eyes who shouldn't be in my business. Anywhoo...
I am a true Texas girl. I love horses, dogs, cats, nature...if an activity has something to do with horses or nature, I'll pretty much enjoy it-Except that I'm so citified now from living in the heart of Dallas that I wouldn't last long outside. Fitting isnt it?
I am a collector of many things. Most ppl call this being a pack rat, but my grandparents taught me well in the ways of keeping things for sentimental value as well as keeping collections for monitary value. Books and Breyer Horses are my main two collections. There is something just so beautiful about a hardcover book. New or Old. And Breyer horse collecting has been a hobby of my family that I picked up from my older sister and her cousin. See, I was SO in love with horses that I had to play with them inside as well as outside.
I am slowly but surely making my way in the world of costuming. I've graduated from simple Rennie garb to trying out Victorian fare and I've even pulled off my first movie recreation. I'm working on more movie recreations right now for Dragon Con as well as some actual period correct Rennie Garb. I figure I can actually sew now, so I may as well have some nice garb to wear once in a while. guens_garb I also have a very small website for my costumes. It's completely under construction and not at ALL the prettiest site you've ever seen, but I know nothing about webpages and really don't want to pay for any webspace at the moment, so I'm just using good ol' freebie Geocities. Gotta love free!
I used to teach dance to children-well, assistant teach, but I taught half of the time on my own until recital time came. I still love to dance, however I haven't practiced ballet in many years. And my sedintary desk job has not afforded me the time or money to take classes again. Needless to say, I'm WAY out of shape. The only time I get to dance is when I go out to clubs. And again with that WAY out of shape thing. But I still have fun moving to the music. It's rather hypnotic.
I also used to sing in my school choir. I miss it and would love to join a choir to re-condition my voice so I can audition for a really good choir that performs Early Sacred Music. But I actually don' think I'll have the time for that. Especially since I'm supposed to be takin Salsa and belly dancing lessons soon.
As for my life right now, I am Always busy. Most of the time that means that I'm home prepareing costumes for my next event, but sometimes I actually get out and about. When I have the extra csh to spare, that is. Costuming's an Expensive hobby!
My child's name is Maizy. She's a Catahoula Leopard Dog. I have made a community for these dogs called![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif)
catahoula_bayou. It's not updated very often, but it does point you in the right direction to get information about them. They truly are wonderful dogs.
I also have three kitties. The first one is named Dunbar. He was adopted to keep Maizy company. They love each other and I couldn't have asked for a more loving cat. I have dubbed him "my little sweety poops" because his poop is sweet. Well, not really, but that's what we say anyways. Then there's Nabisco who was dubbed "Muddy Butt" by her former foster parents because of her constant diarrhea. We've got that under control now and she acts as "Mom" to any foster cats that come our way from my volunteer work with Texas Paw Prints. And my third cat is little Taquita Banana. She's so sweet and lovable. But I'll be retiring as a foster parent soon as she Must be my last cat!
I also love to cook. I have a community for that as well calledambrosiaforguen I post my recipes there. It's not terribly active, but I do enjoy posting there from time to time
Life Fantastic right now. I've proven to myself that I can live on my own in the big city-broke or not. I'm proud of myself. Now if I can just finish that last bit of college in order to get a degree, I'll feel like I'm totally grown up.
